Vermont Should Not Reward Illegal Aliens For Their Criminal Behavior

Human rights groups are complaining that Vermont's prospective single payer healthcare (socialism) will not cover illegal aliens. They want everyone to be equal no matter what choices they've made in their lives and see no difference between criminals and productive, law-abiding citizens.

“We as Vermont are one community, and are proud to distinguish ourselves from states like Arizona that pass legislation excluding people based on their immigration status“, one activist wrote in an e-mail to Sen. Richard Sears.

Could someone decipher the sentence above? "We as Vermont are one community"? What exactly does that mean? We "are proud to distinguish ourselves from states like Arizona"? I'll bet there are states who are proud to distinguish themselves from Marxist states like Vermont also, like Arizona or Wyoming maybe. "...excluding people based on their immigration status"? How about excluding people from taking advantage of America and Americans based upon their legal status, whether they are legal or illegal immigrants? Illegal immigrants should be excluded. Legal immigrants should be welcomed.

Why would Vermont provide health insurance only to legal Vermont residents and to illegal aliens -- who are not legal Vermont residents? If illegal aliens can sign up for Vermont's single payer health insurance then anyone should be able to whether or not they are residents.

Illegal aliens (criminals) shouldn't be able to take advantage of the system and should instead be deported.

Healthcare Is A Right Is UnConstitutional and UnAmerican

The American Spectator : Government in Vermont: "But when Governor Shumlin speaks of healthcare as a right he is not speaking of preventing the government from creating any government-created obstacle between the people's ability to access and pay for healthcare. Rather, he is speaking of the people's rights to obtain goods and services from the hand of the government. Of course, the government does not possess any goods and services except through its ability to tax individuals (or associations of individuals, such as businesses) to pay for them or its ability to commandeer (that is, mandate) them."

Would someone please explain exactly where in the U.S. or Vermont Constitution it says that government has a right to do any of this. Nobody who is advocating for "single-payer" healthcare (socialism) is talking about the Constitution.

Peter (Slick) Shumlin Plays Dirty Even While Governor

Yesterday afternoon I thought I saw Democratic operative Paul Tencher in Montpelier. Later in the day I saw this story at WCAX.
This from Real Clear Politics:

Two days after Republicans took aim at Democratic Gov. Peter Shumlin's fundraising, state Democrats turned the tables Wednesday, filing a complaint alleging that former Republican Gov. Jim Douglas' campaign solicited campaign contributions from a registered lobbyist during the 2009 legislative session _ which would be a violation of campaign finance laws.

So Republicans are concerned about something that happened this month but Democrats are going back two years to retaliate against former Governor Jim Douglas, like they've been saving this up for something. This is Peter Shumlin's responsibility as head of the Democratic Party in Vermont.

"Obviously I want my folks to comply with the law," said Shumlin, D-Vermont. Well, it's not so obvious. These are the kinds of violations one must make sure do not happen and Gov. Shumlin failed to do that.

It's clear that Shumlin won't hesitate to play dirty politics even while serving as Vermont's Governor.

Anti-Nuclear Freaks Arrested

Eleven aging anti-nuclear freak women who should have grown up a long time ago, were arrested last Friday in Vernon for chaining themselves to the main gate of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant.
These are people who hold a grudge against decent, capitalist society and wish to see its downfall which they hope will usher in and enable communism.
Many communists groups, large and small, are opposed to nuclear power because it is able to facilitate industry and manufacturing which are the backbone of a capitalist, free market society.

Vermont's Governor Refuses To Honor Entergy Contract

Is Gov. Shumlin guilty of maladministration regarding the operation of Vermont Yankee?
Peter Shumlin: "Entergy 'must follow our laws' and abide by the state's decision to let the plant close next year, Gov. Peter Shumlin said at a news conference."

It's actually Vermont's governor who doesn't want to honor a contract or follow the laws of the state he governs. The state of Vermont has made no decision as the governor contends in his statement above, and that is exactly the problem and why Entergy has sued. What happened was in 2006 the Vermont Senate alone passed a resolution which violated an agreement the state previously made with Entergy in 2002.

Willem Post of the Coalition for Energy Solutions, states that "There appears to be some confusion in the Vermont media, and elsewhere, regarding continued operation of Vermont Yankee." There is no confusion. This is deliberate on the part of Vermont's mainstream media. They will support Governor Shumlin no matter what because they are in his camp and campaigning for his next term.

The reality here is that we have a lying governor and a media that is aiding and abetting his lies and confabulations.

Read this "Press Release" by James Moore and Paul Burns. Its premise - "Entergy reneges on its promise; sues Vermont" is a half truth. Entergy did not renege on a promise, yet this opinion [propaganda] piece is being presented as having integrity by a reputable web site.

Vermonters need to wake up and smell the coffee. We've elected a governor who is so blinded by his far left ideology and his ego that he is unable to responsibly manage the state's affairs.

Peter Shumlin is engaged in a personal vendetta against the Vermont Yankee Nuclear power plant which could end up costing Vermont taxpayers and energy consumers jobs and millions of dollars, not including the millions that will be spent fighting the Entergy law suit, at a time when we can least afford it.

VT Gov. To Subject Taxpayers To Expensive Legal Proceeding

Peter Shumlin seems determined to spend millions of taxpayer dollars fighting common sense and sane fiscal management.

VERNON -- The Vermont Yankee nuclear plant's owners, who are suing the state of Vermont in a bid to stay open past next year, are taking their case to newspaper readers.


Vermont Yankee's opponents have been taking their case to the public for 40 years, so what's wrong with Entergy doing the same?


Vermont's fourth arm of government, The Burlington Free Press, can't even seem to report accurately on this law suit or anything else involving Vermont Yankee because they are too busy campaigning for Peter Shumlin's reelection.


The last paragraph of this story:
State officials said Entergy previously expressed support for a 2006 law giving the Legislature a say in the plant's continued operation, but now that the state doesn't want to renew the permit, the company wants the law declared unconstitutional... Is a lie committed as part of what is supposed to be a factual news story. The truth is that the State of Vermont has attempted to institute a one-sided change to a written contract.


Gov. Peter Shumlin says: "Instead of following Vermont law, Entergy seeks to subject the taxpayers of Vermont to an expensive legal proceeding." 
Actually it's the governor who is subjecting the taxpayers to an expensive legal proceeding and fighting what is good for Vermont, letting his ego and inflexibility stand in the way of common sense and the sane fiscal management of the state.


The Shumlin administration, including AG William Sorrel, continue to make erroneous statements that Entergy is forcing the state to do things like spend millions of dollars fighting a law suit instead of doing what is right for Vermont.

Washington state Governor Chris Gregoire said Thursday she will not sign a controversial medical marijuana law. Ms. Gregoire says she will not sign the legislation to create licensed medical marijuana dispensaries in Washington state after the Justice Department warned it could result in a federal crackdown.The governor’s comments follow in the wake of the state’s two U.S. attorneys telling Ms. Gregoire in a letter Thursday that bills passed by the Washington House and Senate would permit large scale growing and distribution of the narcotic, a violation of federal law. Ms. Gregoire said signing the bill into law would likely open the state to federal prosecution, which could cost the state millions in legal fees. The Constitutions, Vermont and U.S., place limitations on what government may do and empower individuals with the freedom and liberty to take care of themselves and lead their lives the way they see fit.

Healthcare Is Not A Right Commentary

Healthcare is not a right. As Americans we have the right to pursue health care based on our ability to pay for it, which is based upon our hard work, initiative and creativity. 


Single-payer, or universal, whatever you want to call it, healthcare is wealth redistribution. Wealth redistribution is the heart of communism and socialism. 


Entitlement to the hard earned money of others is not a civil right, it's thievery.

Out-Of-State Neo-Marxists Promote Single-Payer In Vermont

...while the state's mainstream media look the other way.

Any organization which claims to be non-partisan while touting single-payer health care is lying. 

This includes the New America Foundation which is promoting our Neo-Marxist Gov. Peter Shumlin's health care plan for Vermont. The New America Foundation and its Marxist ties are detailed by commie hunter Trevor Loudon here.

So we have at least two instances (see also this) of communist and/or Neo-Marxist organizations from outside Vermont organizing people in-state or promoting Peter Shumlin's single-payer [socialized] health care plan. In addition, the Vermont Workers Center which touts 'A People's Struggle For Universal Healthcare', also has many out-of-state connections. Vermont's mainstream media has been silent regarding these activities.


I'd be willing to bet this is merely the tip of a huge Marxist iceberg, an iceberg that the ship of the state of Vermont is veering toward at break-neck speed with our captain at the wheel.


Are there any journalists left in Vermont with enough integrity to properly investigate these immoral, anti-American communists?

People who have money are the ones who usually work very hard and they don't want to have these transfer payments. The people who have money, 5% or 10% of the population, are outnumbered by the poor people and therefore they have essentially no votes.


If you are well to do in the United States you have exactly the same vote as someone who doesn't want to work. The uneducated who don't want to work have the same vote as someone who has worked very hard all his life.

Flashback: Allen West On Possible Shutdown of Federal Gov't

In the video below reposted from February 26,  Allen West talks about the realities of the current budget showdown that are being ignored by Dems. 


It's also important to note that the shutdown, if it happens will not actually be a shutdown. Social Security checks would still go out. Troops would remain at their posts. Furloughed federal workers probably would get paid, though not until later. And virtually every essential government agency, like the FBI, the Border Patrol and the Coast Guard, would remain open.


Also in this previous post Congressman Peter Welch threatens us that a government shutdown could be "dangerous" and harm the economy. Congressman Welch is sinking to a new low with his claims and deserves to be called out on it.

Ann Barnhardt: Marxists Have Sissified Men and Boys in America
