Vermont State Media Omits Race When Perp Is Non-White

Let's see if we can guess the race of the people involved in this shooting incident reported in Vermont's Burlington Free Press today. The first name of the shootee is Kuwan, shot in the hand. The shooter is described below, omitting his race.

"Police are looking for information about a man in his late 20s, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, medium build and short, cropped black hair. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, said police."

Now we all know that if the shooter were white the Free Press would have mentioned this fact as they always mention the race of white suspects and never mention the race of non-white suspects.

Then there is this story also from the Burlington Free Press  Vermont State Media  - Vermont man charged with kidnapping and sex assault. He is Forty-three-year-old James Gathright, Jr.. I searched for James Gathright, Jr. on the internet and found a photo of a man with that name on Facebook who lives in Vermont in the Rutland area, and looks to be about 43 years old. He is black. The Free Press omits this fact in their story and they have yet to follow up this story with one about his court appearance on Monday, 11/14/11, even though this appears to be a very serious crime.
