Is it possible to secure our borders, especially our southern border, without some form of racial profiling? With 460,000 illegal aliens in Arizona, for example, any person of Hispanic descent walking down the street or riding in a car could be breaking the law. 7% of the population of Arizona ( one third of the Hispanic population ) is breaking the law simply by being in Arizona. There is nothing wrong with racial profiling when it happens that race is one of the factors in determining probable cause. The danger in racial profiling, of course, is that it could enable other dangerous illegals to slip in under the radar, so we should also be profiling for Islamic terrorists.
We need to shy away from the political correctness that has infected and perverted our social contracts if we want to secure our borders and keep America free. It's not racial profiling that opponents of Arizona's new law are afraid of, it's the fact that the law may actually be enforced. These lawbreakers, and their enablers, want to use America's good qualities against us.
