But These Are Innocent VT Farmworkers

...that the dairy industry can't survive without.

"We kind of look the other way as much as we can, and I just want to make sure that that's what we're doing." - VT Governor Peter Shumlin on illegal aliens.

For the second time in the past seven months, federal prosecutors have brought charges alleging that a prostitute was brought to Vermont to have sex with farmworkers [illegal aliens]The case closely resembles another arrest made in June when two men were arrested and charged with transporting several Hispanic women from New York to Vermont to have sex with farmworkers [illegal aliens]. Read more... Also a link to the Reuters story here.

Illegal immigrants breed even more crime which Vermont's governor and other leaders are encouraging by looking the other way.

History Repeats Itself

Is Obama our modern day
American Mussolini?
...sort of.

Fill in the blanks:
Among the domestic achievements of _________ were his public works programs..., the improvement of job opportunities, the public transportation system, and the... economic battles. _________ also began his political career as a socialist.

A Tweeter tweeted in response to my tweet during SOTU: "His demeanor reminds me of films I've seen of Hitler and Mussolini", that "There's never a good reason to compare a U.S. Prez to Hitler".

While that is open for debate, there is plenty of reason to compare Obama to Mussolini. Wake up America!

Reaction to SOTU: Obama or Mussolini?

The truly scary thing about "The Destroyer's" speech last night is that many people have unflinchingly bought into it.

It was a speech full of lies, misinformation and twisted demagoguery, pitting Americans against each other. It was the type of speech you'd expect to hear to close out the Democratic Party convention.

During the speech I Tweeted that "His demeanor reminds me of films I've seen of Hitler and Mussolini". This is what we're up against and why it's so important to the survival of America that Obama be defeated in the fall.

Other Tweets by yours truly from last night were: "Bernie Sanders and Al Franken sitting next to each other makes sense. They're both frauds."

"Government can show its support by staying the hell out of the way."

"Have you been to Detroit recently, Mr. President?"

If you intend to vote for this traitor, do your country a favor and stay home on election day or get out.

Regarding Vermont's Hurricane Irene

Views of VT Lawmakers Lag Behind Their Constituents on Right to Life Issues

The VT Statehouse, home of
the nation's most liberal
state legislature
"We still have a lot of entrenched ideas inside the Statehouse."

Vermont Right to Life Executive Director Mary Hahn Beerworth said the group faces an uphill battle in Vermont to achieve its mission -- "to achieve universal recognition of the sanctity of human life from conception through natural death." Read more...

She also said you don't necessarily have to be a conservative to oppose abortion and assisted suicide.

It's Time To Get Behind Willard Mitt Romney

Until this week I was in the anti-Romney camp, but now it's time for conservatives to put their petty differences aside and stand behind Mitt Romney. It's clear at this point, and will be almost definite after this coming Tuesday, that he will be the Republican Party nominee for president.

You can tell by watching and listening to him that he really wants to be president. He's a fighter and can be a dirty fighter, which is one of the reasons I believe he's been criticized so much. We need this for once in a Republican. He's got a solid organization in every state in the union. He's our best chance to defeat Obama.

Read this from Ann Coulter, if you haven't already. She's right on: ONLY ONE CANDIDATE IS RIGHT ON THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT ISSUES

Let's take America back one step at a time. The first is to defeat "The Destroyer".

Reaction To NDAA Is Overblown

The National Defense Authorization Act signed into law by President Obama on Dec. 31, does not authorize indiscriminate rounding up of you or your neighbors based on a whim or based on someone saying "I think this guy's a terrorist" or anything like that. It specifically targets members and supporters of al-Qaeda and the Taliban (incidentally, even though the Obama administration contends that the Taliban isn't our enemy).

Anything that Bernie Sanders and the ACLU oppose is probably good for America.

Here is the text of the bill which describes "covered persons" who may be detained under the act:

Subtitle D—Detainee Matters
SEC. 1031. AFFIRMATION OF AUTHORITY OF THE ARMED FORCES OF THE UNITED STATES TO DETAIN COVERED PERSONS PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF MILITARY FORCE

Sec. 1031. Affirmation of authority of the Armed Forces of the United States to detain covered persons pursuant to the Authorization for Use of Military Force.

(b) COVERED PERSONS.—A covered person under  this section is any person as follows:
(1) A person who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred
on September 11, 2001, or harbored those responsible for those attacks.
(2) A person who was a part of or substantially supported al-Qaeda, the Taliban, or associated forces that are engaged in hostilities against the United States or its coalition partners, including any person who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.

Sec. 1032
(2) COVERED PERSONS.—The requirement in paragraph (1) shall apply to any person whose detention is authorized under section 1031 who is determined—
(A) to be a member of, or part of, al-Qaeda or an associated force that acts in coordination with or pursuant to the direction of al-Qaeda; and  (B) to have participated in the course of planning or carrying out an attack or attempted attack against the United States or its coalition partners.

In addition Subtitle D-Sec. 1031 Detainee Matters:

(e) AUTHORITIES.—Nothing in this section shall be     construed to affect existing law or authorities, relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States.

I stand strongly against the direction Barack Obama is taking America and even question the constitutionality of his presidency and his patriotism. The fact that I think this law is a good one, should not be construed as support for the President in general.

40,000 New Laws To Take Effect In 2012

As the new year begins 40,000 new laws will take effect.

Lawyers should not be allowed to be the law makers. It's a conflict of interest. A good sports analogy would be that it's like letting the players referee themselves. It's one reason why there are eight zillion laws on the books relating to every single aspect of our lives. The game will never end.

Bernie Sanders Is My Guide

U.S. Senator
Bernie Sanders (I) VT
doesn't really care about America
or the people he "represents".
I read an article recently, can't remember where, that described Vermont's Bernie Sanders as "left leaning". He is not leaning, he has fallen  over and is lying on the floor.

Recently, whenever I'm confused about an issue, I look to see where Bernie stands and go from there. Chances are very good that Sanders is on the wrong [left] side of almost everything.

Take for example S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012. I had been reading articles with titles like 'President and Congress Sign Away America’s Moral Authority'. Sanders opposed this bill, so I decided to actually read the bill.

Claiming that this law gives the President "the power to scoop you or your neighbor up and hold you without due process or access to a lawyer" is a false claim unless you or your neighbor are members of a terrorist group like Al Qaeda or directly support them.

In addition, the section of S. 1867 which defines who is "covered" by the law says "Nothing in this section shall be construed to affect existing law or authorities, relating to the detention of United States citizens, lawful resident aliens of the United States or any other persons who are captured or arrested in the United States."

Bernie Sanders voted against a bill that will help keep America safe and defeat terrorism. He is always on the wrong side - the side that will do the most harm to America and American interests.
